Today, I watched the TV program which showed about President Bush. I have known about him little, but I could find several things about him through the TV. Before I write about him, I have to write my position. I support him, because it become good decision for Japan, but I also have some anxious to him. Japanese government must engage to him, because we have alliance.

American military protect Japan. This sentence is one problem. After the WW2, American government supported the Japanese government well; on the other hand, American soldier behave badly. A few years ago, one American soldier committed the crime in Japan. It became a big problem, because Japanese police couldn’t look into the incident. Some people say we don’t need American protection any more.

American soldier want to stay in Japan, because Japan locate convenient place to supervise North Korea, Iraqis or other dangerous country. For Japan, it sounds so bad, because we don’t have enough place and money to give them. We have a kind of the military. We can protect ourselves without relying on American military. I mean American military don’t have the reason to stay in Japan any more.

When we focus on the economy, we have to depend on American government, because President Bush thinks Japan is important country about economy, but Mr. Kerry thought China is important country. I know Chinese economy is developing rapidly. Some Japanese have an anxious about Chinese economy, because their economy looks like Japanese economy before economical bubble collapsed. Chinese economy must be collapsed soon. To select Japan as a heart of the Asian economy is better choice now.

In the TV I watched, it said about President Bush. He is good or bad for Japan. He and Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi are said that they are crazy. It sounds true, because Mr. Bush don’t think that American military get out from Japan in spite of our demand. His opinion is American government’s selfishness, but Japanese economy receive benefit from American government’s principles.

Now, in Japan, most conspicuous topic about the politics is about The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications. President Koizumi insists to privatize post offices. I agree with him, because those changes have succeeded in Germany. Post office in Germany got a lot of benefit since the government decides to privatize. If Japanese government decided to do this, we would have many problems.

The first problem is those post offices have deposit system. My mother prefer saving in post office to saving in banks, because post office is a national service. We don’t need to worry to lose much money by bankruptcy. If this service is abolished, we have to rely on the unstable bank.

Second problem is about insurance. Insurance is depended on post office in Japan. Certainly, we have insurance companies, but they are unstable, too. Many people pay money to post office for insurance. If post offices are going to disappear, we can’t gain the insurances.

Private post offices have many merits, but they also have many problems. In the process to privatize, the post offices have to change their system about saving and insurance. It’s really difficult problem in Japan, but it also have a hope, because private post office can connect to foreign post office strongly. Alternative choice makes president Koizumi confused.

New discovery

In the news paper, I found that new rocket had launched to the comet. I don’t have knowledge about universe, but it must bring the good news to mankind. Humans have exploded many areas in the earth. Our interests turn to the explosion to the universe. This fact sounds good for mankind? We need to explode other stars to survive. What kind of people can survive?

The people who will go other ship must have power or not? We wear special suits, because we can’t breathe in the space. We have to do exercise in the ship, and we can’t eat enough food in the space. Very old American had succeeded in staying in the space for a week or some, but babies can go there? Small animal had also been to space. Nasa didn’t insist some obstacle about animals’ trip. These experiments mean everyone can go to the space.

It will take very long time to bring all people living in the earth. Who can go first? In my opinion, the order will be like this.

2nd rich people
3rd civilian
It sounds very sad, because our world don’t have equality.

The contents I wrote here are not based on the fact, because I don’t have the knowledge about it. They are just my guess, but if they were fact, it would be terrible, because we might need to leave many people in the earth. That’s awful.

Earthquake and tsunami

The end of the last year large earthquake happened in Southeast Asia. After that, big tsunami killed many people and destroyed many buildings near the coast. Tsunami is the large wave which happens after earthquake. In Japan, earthquakes happen frequently. Last year, in Niigata area, big earthquake happened after big typhoon. Last year and the beginning of this year, some disasters have focused on.

Earthquake is big problem for us, because it destroys many things. About 10 years ago, big earthquake happened in Kansai district. At the time, nobody expected that the earthquake happen there, because it was said that there are no dislocation. It happened lunch time and many people used fire in the house. Damage was expanded bigger than scientist predicted. After the big earthquake, many people had lost their houses. We hadn’t had insurance for an earthquake.

Tsunami is also big problem for the countries where earthquake happen. Recently, it hasn’t happen in Japan fortunately. When tsunami happened in Southeast Asia, I was really surprised, because it has large power. Tsunami happened in sumatola coast destroyed almost all buildings. I worry their life including the life of the Japanese. Japanese government tries to support them. They can help citizens in Southeast Asia, because Japan has a lot of ways to defend from such a disaster.

Earthquake and tsunami is very threatening disaster. They destroy people’s life. We can nothing for it. The things we can do is set up the guarantees and making the defending something. They are really scary disasters.

Korean Star

Last year, many Korean actors got famous in Japan. Especially Pe Yong Jyung is the most famous Korean actor in Japan. His nick name is aristocrat of the smiling. That’s very interesting, because they are said that they have purity Japanese don’t have. They look very pure through the vision of middle aged women, but this new booming looks just funny for young people.

Generation gaps cause that phenomenon. 10 years ago, Japanese actors have this kind of charm point. After many years have passed, trend had changed, and young women had become middle aged women. Japanese men had lost the charm point old actors had. Many years ago, young people looked more active than us.

This phenomenon might be caused by good diplomacy between Korea and Japan. We succeeded to hold big soccer event. This success made our distance short in our sense. As a result of success of the world cup, many women accept Korean guy. We can think this phenomenon has good effect on the relationship between Japanese people and Korean people.

Recently, Korean actors are popular among Japanese middle aged women. That trend is good phenomenon for diplomacy between Japan and Korea. We are approaching each other. I like the purity and friendship Korean have. It helped me many times during my stay, but my feeling for Korean and the feeling Japanese women have is not necessarily same thing.

Japanese New Year’s Day

Each country has each way to cerebrate the New Year’s Day. Certainly we have our own way. We write a letter to our friend and co-worker, and we say あけましておめでとう(akemashite omedetou). It means Happy New Year. This custom is great, because we can keep in touch with using this way with friend, but recently, this custom is going out of use.

One of the big reasons of desolation of the custom is development of e mail. When we send letters, we have to buy postcard, and we write. If we use email, we don’t need to do them. We just type message and send it. Email system is very convenient.

On the other hand, postcard has an advantage. The way using postcard is very unique, and that way is formal way in Japan. If you send email substitute to postcard, it is excused, while if you email to your boss, you must obey custom. Everyone think the way obeying the custom is more formal.

On New Years Day, we usually send postcard to friends and co-workers as a greeting. As a result of the development of the computer technology, some people use email for it. The way using email for greeting is convenient but informal. We need to care of it when we send something on the New Years Day.

The Ceremony for the 20th

In Japan we have a ceremony for the people who are 20th years old. The other day, I joined the ceremony, and I met a lot of old friends there. It was very interesting ceremony. I guess American people don’t have such a good custom. Japan is very small country and we have small amount of the people, so we can held this ceremony.

Japan has very small, so we can gather one place easily. If we become 20th, we get one letter from community. It includes the schedule of the ceremony. The very day most of us gather at one place. I joined the ceremony Yamato city held. Every year, on January 15 is the holiday for the people who have become 20th, but a couple years ago the very day moved to Monday of the week including January 15. That’s why it has held on January 10th this year.

The population of Japan is smaller than the population of the U.S.,so we can gather easily. This ceremony is held in each area. Usually, the communities of each area hold it. Recently, there are problem. Some people mutiny when the mayor is talking. They just want to stand out in front of everyone. They are always arrested and TV pick this news up.

I just introduce one of the Japanese cultures of a ceremony. This ceremony must be wonderful one. I enjoyed it, and I think its good ceremony. Only the country like Japan can hold this ceremony, because Japan doesn’t have large land and population.

English is my major. I like English, so I came to America to learn English. To learn other language is difficult for especially Japanese. Japanese don’t have many sounds, but it is just excuse. I think to learn language is not most important thing. The most important things are to concern to connect with foreign people.

Many of my friends say that English is difficult. I know that. I think we are not required to speak English very fluently. The important things are to try to transmit my thinking. To transmit it, I was required to learn English. It’s very simple thought. I’ve tried to let English speakers know what I want to say. This simple thinking made my feelings positive about speaking English. I am not afraid to speak to foreigners now.

I’m really happy to have gotten positive thinking about learning English. It has helped me to learn English. The teachers, my American friends and Korean students have always assisted or encouraged me to learn English.

American literature

Yesterday I read the book, entitled Strangled Prose, by Joan Hess. This noble was good, because the story was simple and funny. It was first time to read English book for me, but reading English book was fun. I also like to read Japanese nobles. I found the differences between Japanese literature and English literature.

The difference I found first is about organization. The book I read has surely included many paragraphs, but there are not so long basically. Many of Japanese literatures have longer paragraphs. It depends on authors, but I feel Japanese literature is more difficult to read.

The second difference is about nuance. It depends on languages. When I read English book I felt that their description is fine. Some Japanese words can include many nuances, so it can conclude many meanings onto one word. This effect makes sentence dynamic. Surely, it depends on the authors.

I could see the differences between the Japanese literature and English literature. One of them is about organization; while one of them is about nuance. Languages make unique characteristics. Reading Strangled Prose was good experience to know them.

Translation

I had a presentation last Wednesday about our major or profession. I introduced the difference of translating. It is very interesting topic for me, so I introduce about it in this blog. Translation Japanese into English is very difficult. There are two problems about translating Japanese literature into English.

One of them is the difference of culture. We have our own culture, because our culture was developed in the closed country. Japan is isolated from other countries in Asia. We have our own language and things named in Japanese, so we can’t translate things into English directly. Good translator use connotation. They replace Japanese own things with similar foreign things.

Another of the problems is about the grammar. We usually speak or write Japanese without subject. It makes translator confused. Foreigners don’t understand who did it in the article and conversation. Translators need to supply the subject.

To translate Japanese into English is really difficult. We have unique cultures and grammars. They are difficult to understand the meanings without good translation. It usually makes translators confused.

Christmas

Today, in the class, we learned about the custom of charismas. It was interesting. The American culture is very different from Japanese one. I compare Japanese style of charismas and American style of Christmas. There are many differences between American style and Japanese style.

In America, some people like to decorate house with light and toys, but Japanese don’t do it basically. I think there are many Christian in America Christmas stem from their custom. Japanese imitate their culture. When the custom crossed to Japan, something made their style changed.

Japanese don’t have a similar culture to Christmas, so it was difficult to import this culture. Originally, the thought about the traditional events is different. This different might come from the difference of religion. Almost all Japanese were Buddhists in the past. In events, we eat traditional food and drink quietly, but some American like to make a fuss in events.

Japanese people have different culture from American culture. We tried to import Christmas, but we couldn’t do it directly. Japanese style of Christmas might be strange for American. It means difficulty of import the culture.

一期一会

Do you know the meanings of the title. 一期一会 is a great proverb. It means meating people is important for the life. It is called "a once in a lifetime." I don't like this word, but now I have to experience it. I like my friend staying in here, better than other members who came from Hosei university. Today, I said goo bye to my friends. I was so sad. Anyway, this chinese character have a special meanings.

一期 means "onece." This word makes me sad. I always judge my friends. I always think whether my friends have an effect to me. The friend I said good bye were the first people I talked about politics or economy, something like that. They are precious people for me. I will lost my precious friend at this time.

一会 means "meet once." I remember the moment we met at coffee hour. I remember exactly. At that time, I had been afraid to talk with American, but my friend and I charenged to do it. Fortunately, I got good friends. After talking, I suggested my friend to go to dinner with them, but one of them didn't have ID card. When we decide to gove up, they suggested to order the pizza. We accompany with them. From thet time, at coffee hour we always talk and go to dinner after that.

When these chinese character make 一期一会. It sounds sad. I lost my friend. I lost my friend. I don't like this word. I want to stay here more.

Why the American Japanese speaker can't speak Japanese naturaly?

Many of my American friends are studying Japanese. They sometimes try to speak to me in Japanese. I always respond "How good pronunciation it is". To be honest, I don't think so. American's Japanese are also strange, because they have their own rhythum.

English speaker always speak with stress, but we don't care about it. Our pronunciation is like a straight line. English speaker make wave. This difference make the pronciation of Amercan's Japanese speaker strange.

My teacher said, to speak English or French, they make their lip pursed, on the other hand, Japanese use relax lip. He is right. We are relax when we speak Japanese, even though we speak English, so it must be strange for English speaker to listen Japanese English pronunciation.

Japanese speaker and English one have their own pronunciation, so they don't need to care about pronunciation each other. It is important to try to understand. If I have a time to improve my pronunciation. I hope to spend time to practice it.

It is said that especially Japanese is likely to make spelling mistakes. Why Japanese make a lot of spell mistakes? Actually I have made many mistakes to write this blogs. The answer is easy. We are not good at listening.

Listening is very important part to learn language, because all of the spelling rely on the sound. Especially, The Japanese can't distinguish L sound from R sound. We have らり　る　れ　ろ　in Japanese. If we write them by alphabet, we write ra ri ru re ro, also we can write la li lu le lo. We don't have a two different sound about ら　り　る　れ　ろ.

Japanese new year vs The thanks giving holiday.

How was your thanks giving day? This culture was first experience for me. It was good culture. I spend thanks giving holiday with my host family. I ate turkey, and other delicious food. Many of my friend went shopping. If the Japanese experienced thanks giving day, they would think it's like a new year holiday, because many relative gather at one place and eat alot. Japanese eat rice cake substitute turkey for the American.Both of them have some simiralities, meanwhile they also have differances.

In both cases, many people gather one place and eat a lot of traditional food.In Japan, in new year, we have many traditional event. We make a rice cake and play with a traditional toy. Many people go shopping, because many shops sell their products in discount price. Thanks giving day is very similar to these event.

On the other hand, the Japanese have only one big event every year, but the American have other great events. The thanks giving day is one of the biggest event, but they also have halloween and chiristmas. the Japanese also have many event, but they are not big event. For the Japanese, new year is the only big event.

The difference between thanks giving day and new year in Japan is their style. Japanese new year have religious meaning, while the thanks giveing have historical meaning. In the thanks giving, people cereblate food, but we don't cerebrate anything. We must have background, but it's not known. It is guessed that Japanese new year have religious meaning.

We can find any similar style between the thanks giving day, but also can find different meanings about holiday. These difference show the differences of the culture. Then, some simirarities show the importance of the event. Both of them must be big event fir the people.

Tomorrow is thanks giving day. The student in here will not attend the class. It's very happy day, because I can sleep until noon. Anyway thanks giving days are national holiday to celebrate the harvest with greatful for native American. They will eat big turkey and granberry. Especially, I like turkey, because turkey has good taste and smelling.

Turkey is good for healh, because it include much of vitamin. Turkey is good for coldness. It help America to develop, because American is rescured by food provided by native American. Tuekey must be savior for Washinton. When Washinton caught a cold, turkey cure of his cold. I never heard such a good story. It's kidding.

Turkey's smell is very good, and it promote our apatize. I like smelling of burned turkey. When it comes to good food food for calebration, you can't beat turkey. Turkey is eaten in chiristmas. It's smelling make children pleased, because children like celebration.

I am studying about native American. Yesterday I learned about their spirit. I thought their spirit is great. Everyone must not forget their spirit. Nowadays, waste is big problem in the world. They should obey native American's spirit, because our life focus on only their life now. Do you think about the world after 100 years later?

American government should accept the Kyouto protocol, even thou they have any political reason, because it might become start point to prevent to pollute any more. America is big country, so it's serious problem for environment. They should know the importance of recycling or any other good activity for environment.

Every people stop waste, because waste cause the problem of pollution. We should eat all of the lunch, and we should turn light off as soon as possible. All of the waste pollute environment. We should throw away the hope to good life with waste.

For Quiet American

I had imagined the American is basicly noisy people. Movie or Tv had made one image to the American somehow. My room mate is very quiet person, so I don't like him so much. I think he was not American in my mind, because American must be noisy. Other American friends are talkative people. In addition to my friend, more American are quiet than the Japanese. I was surprized, because the Japanese is more silent than the American in my imagination. Surely it depends on the personarity. My room mate might have special personarity. Anyway, I hate him because his personarity doesn't suitable my personarity.

He never clean the room, because he is lazy person. I hate lazy person. It is said the Japanese is hard worker. I agree with this. In the case of him, he is too lazy. His desk is always dirty, and he always sleep wearing only underwear. He looks dirty, because he is fat. It makes me uncomfortable.

His anser is always boring, because he don't accept other people. He might think himself special. I think he isn't liked many people. Actually, I ask some question to him, his answer is always "Yes or No". Is he a machine?

I have thousands of criticaize to him. Hopefully, I want him to go other room, because I like neighbors. I'm standing his bad behavior. I might have scolded him in Japanese. I think he is also crazy for you.

Encountering

Today, I met nice people. They are professor and their famiy. When I met them, I had already liked them. When I leave his house, his children regret to myreturn. It's a first experience for me. Children don't want to separate my hand. I undergo many good-bye, I've never experienced such a sad good- bye. Today I am going to write about encountering. To encounter people is important for life, because they have an effect on another's spirit.

If you encountered the older people, you would respect him/her, because they have more career. It is very important to respect older person than yourself. They might advice about your bothering. They will give you good experience.

If you encounter the person who is same age as you, you would enpathize with him or her, because they have similar career with you. It must be good encounter for you. You should compare his experience with his/her experience. You could get many precious information from his experience.

If you encountered the younger people, you would teach many experience, because you have more career. They might be interested in your great career. You don't need to ashame your career. you should be proud of your career.

You should repeat these things. You can get better experience than before. I'ts important to make yourself growing. These experience would make you substancial person.

About Language

Language is necessary to communicate with someone easily. I'm interested in English. If I mastered English, It must be my great skill. I mean I could get the oppotunity to get friends all over the world. Do you know the story that abcester had had th common language, but they made the god angry, because they tried to make the very high tower to invade the god territory. After word, God depride their common language. If every one mastered the English, we could get the common language again.

If we need the common language, we must eliminate any problem which adapt the way to connect with people by language, because it interrupt to unite language. For example, war interrupt to get along with another nation. If one country attacked another country, the loser would hate winner forever.

What I want to say is this story mean that we should stop destroy and war. Common language sound very good. Hopefully we want to get common language. Before we make a common language, we have to stop destroying and war. I think this story is very deep.

National Charactor's Color

I believe national character exist in each country. I think American person’s characteristic is exaggerated. On the other hand, Japanese person’s characteristic is calm, If I focus on these two differences between Japanese and Americans, I like American personal characteristic better, because they know how to enjoy their lives.

The American performer is best in the world, because they have a great national character. In Green Day’s concert, I went last week, on of the members showed his best performance. He performed for audiences. He sang good song, and dance funnily. If Japanese imitated them they might behave stranger a little. It’s not prejudice. I like American person’s characteristic, because their performance has peculiar style Japanese never imitate them.

The Japanese are hard worker it depends on our historical reason. After WW2, Japan had had to develop our industry, so they work hard. As a result of hardworking, we got much money, but we couldn’t keep growing up. After the economical bubble collapsed Japanese need to work hard again. I think this reason isn’t correct, but somehow we are hard worker.

I think national characteristic is very interesting point to compare the Japanese and the American. Many American have performer’s inside, and the Japanese is hard worker. I like American style better, because it’s important to enjoy their life. Hard working is important, but it’s not only necessary thing for me to work hard, so the American’s national characteristics look better for me.

Dawn of the Dead

I watched Dawn of the Dead last week. That movie was very good movie for me. Unfortunately, I couldn’t feel scared. I just focused on the beautiful actress. Her action was not so good, but she was beautiful actress. After watching the movie, I reviewed that movie, and found that this movie represent several things about America. This movie is good because this movie pay take care of several social problem of America.

About racial problem, I thought the director take care of organization of the group which tried to survive from the dead, because their group was organized by black and white people. Almost all latest movies take care of racial problem. I think It’s good outlook. If they were organized only white or black, they would lack of reality. There are a lot of races in America.

The main character is women, because the director would take care of the feminism problem. In the movie, women flourish in many scenes. I think these features are able to be accepted by feminism. It’s an important factor to give a good impression to women moviegoers.

My teacher said many movies represent to something. Some of them represent social problem. I think these effects make me feel good, because these situations are actually real. Movie like Down of the Dead should pursue realism, because this movie’s theme have unreal situation. This gap may fascinate the moviegoers.

Japanese Punk vs. U.S punk

I listen to both of Japanese music and American music. I like both of them. I think American like various kind of music. They have many sort of music like punk, rock, jazz and hip-hop. I like their diversity culture in America. On the other hand Japanese music tend to imitate them. Young people like the music which imitate European or American music.

There are a lot of musicians in America, because America has a lot of cultures. Their music depend on their diversity of their culture. They might imitate other country’s music, but it has already been American original one. Japanese music might follow this pattern. I just hate the way to imitate, because they aren’t cool.

We have traditional music culture of Enka, so we should think this culture are important. Unfortunately it isn’t popular among Japanese young people. Young people couldn’t accept their own old music. Young people try to make their own music culture.
I don’t like these music for young people, because the song sang by Japanese which is like U.S punk. It might good for them, but it is just imitating them.

I like U.S. punk music, but I don’t like Japanese imitating music from U.S. punk. It’s not real punk. I can’t understand that young people like recent Japanese music. I always think they should listen to real U.S. punk.

The Happiest Thing

My friend‘s teacher said the happiest thing of the life in the world is to marry Japanese women, and the unhappiest thing in the world is to marry Japanese men. I’m one of the Japanese men. I surely don’t care, but I have to say thousand of merit to marry Japanese man.

Japanese women are called Yamatonadeshiko, because they are politer, more quiet and prettier. I agree with their opinion. They look better than other lazy, noisy and ugly women. I can acknowledge that Japanese women are popular.

Japanese men can make living by their selves. A hundred to one, we can earn enough money to live. In Japan, almost all men belong to middle class I mean we have much money.

I think Japanese don’t look so bad, because some Japanese actor or sports player are acknowledged as cool guys. The American movie director tend to focus on the oriental aspect of Japanese actor, and foreign soccer coach use them as a hard worker. Many Japanese are like that, but they are actually cool guy.

What I want to say is that Japanese men are also good. Though they are small and too industrious, but we have good aspect in our heart. We can make the women who are from other country happy. Everyone should focus on the good aspect of Japanese men.

National Voting Day

Yesterday, it was the homework to watch TV of election day. I watched it for over 1 hours. To tell the trueth, I don't like to watch TV, because I can't understand. I always feel uncomfortable. It was hard for me even to watch TV, but I watched it yesterday. Unfurtunately, I couldn't get the imformation I wanted. The only thing I found is that Bush was getting more vote than Kerry. What I wanted to write was about the reaction of the university students and how this voting have an effect on the inhabitants. I couldn't get the imformation this is based on my opinion. Why does the American people support Bush .

Some of the American friends hate Bush because he has a strange thought about Iraq war. I think his reprisal wasn't correct activity, because his word killed many people and make some American people sad. He has been crime, because he had already prompt to kill the people.

Some people say that the war is right, because terrorist will not attack the U.S. If Kerry became the president, the terrorist group might attack again. I think it is also right thought. The America kept their pride.

I can find the reason why the American politics was hated by the world. Senata is making the misunderstanding. They are not the ruler of the world. On the other hand, they have a strong force. I can understand the reason some friends include the Japanese hate him, because he is like a representation to the authority.

I think Bush have a responsibility against the war. It is obvious fact to kill a number of the Iraqi. He defend the pride of the America. He is the hero in this view. If I could vote, I would think the comparison his honor and responsivirity of the war.

American cigarette

I was smoker. Since I was high school student, I'd smoked. I was not bad boy, but I'd know the taste of cigarette. I liked smoking, but I had decided to quit smoking 2 month ago. The motive was that I stay the American house whose family has two children, and I don't want to make a trouble. I thought I would keep quiting smoking, but I had started smoking after 2 weeks later. Now, I try to quit smoking seriously. As an evidence of my decision, I state about the difference between American cigarette and Japanese one.

Japanese cigarrettes I smoked were cheap and good taste. There are many smoker in Japan. Then, government made a legislation to reduce of the cigarette's effects on the earth and the human. The price of the cigarette go up, so the number of the people who liked smoking was go down. I think the price of the cigarette will keep going up.

American cegarettes I smoked were expensive and bad taste. Most of them are taxes. I don't watch so many smokers here. The buyers of the cigarette are not American but also Korean or Japanese. American people seems to not like cigarette. I think it's good things for health. American government is geneus relate with the problem about cigarette.

I like Japanese cigarette, because it is suitable for my taste. I couldn't like American one, because it is expensive and not good taste for me. Cigarette is fundamentaly have a bad effect on the health. American people is kind for their lung, but they are strict for my wallet.

I talked with my friend about American culture. I heard that a few American people are very rich, but many poor people are also there. Bill Gates is the richest person in the world. In my friend's opinion, if he retire his job, microsoft, which is the most famous computer company in the world, a lot of people would get the job. The microsoft pay for him large amount of money. America is the strange country, because one person can earn much money, but other people don't have foods enough to live.

In Japan, most of inhabitant are middle class. I don't know why they are rich. I think Japanese insurance is much better than American one. We have a constitution, which is that inhabitant can at least make their living. Their living is assured by their country. I think this system is very good. I don't know if America has the system like that, but starving must be happen in the advanced nation.

One of the way to reduce the differencial between the wealth and the poor depend on the insurance system. In Japan, this system have a problem. If they paid the tax and insuranse to the country, money might not be back in the future. I think it's a big problem, but it doesn't reach the problem relate with lives. Senata should regulate the insuranse system right now.

In America, they have the big difference between the wealth and the poor. In Japan most of us are middle class, worker got income at least enough to live. I think the big difference is the system of the insursnce. Japanese system is much better than American one. It must be important to focus on the insurance in the next election.

American architecture

I like to look American architecture. When I went to Toront I was surprized, though Tront in not city in America. I'll go to Chicago the week after next week. Chicago is famous for the great builudings. I'm looking forward to visiting Chicago.I don't know why American architecture is so great.

I think one of the reason is that Ameerica is the center of the world about economy and politics. Some country don't want to accept it. I used to think that America isn't the greatest country in the world, but America was greatest country at least about architecture. I think they had needed to build the unique building for the important organizations in the world like WHO and U.N.

I think 2nd reason is that many rich men gather the city like New York. They built the buildings with their money. They must become the good advertizement. In America there are many rich men. Then these building direct the rich's culture, or the evidence of the devolopment.

I don't know the reason the city in America have such a great buildings exactly. Thers reason is just my guess. America is the important place, and in America, there are many rich people. I think they must have more plausible reason. American culture have diversity. There are many reason the architecture developed.

Gay Marriage

The voting which decide the president in the U.S. will come soon. My friend and I talked about voting. I couldn't understand completely, but this election include many point to focus; medical treatment, military, and gay marriage. I asked to my friend what he think about gay marriage. Then he respond that it's not political problem. It depends on the moral as human. I couldn agree with him completely.

If the gay marriage is adomitted, we might feel strange, because we have never undergo to seeing gay couple. It must be unnatural. If I saw them I might uncomfortable though that's not good things, because it's rude for gay couple. It's a moral problem.

On the other hand, freedom is one aspect of the human society. I think the prohibition against the gay marriage is contrary to freedom. America is the nation which respect the freedom. They can't forbid every thing except the bad things.

The view point is whether or not gay marriage is bad things. I think it is not necessarily bud things, because I don't care so much. I don't believe any religeon. In my moral, that's ok, because i have a will I never like guys. I don't know other's feelings. I don't know gays feelings. Nobody can decide about this problem.

Gay marriage have 2 problem. One of them is about moral, and another is relate with freedom. I think this problem is depend on the personality. I mean nobody can decide about this problem.

Alien vs Predator

I watch the movie every week end to improve my listenning skill. Iwatched Alien vs Predator yesterday. This movie was very bad. I like Alien2 and Predetor1. These movie had an effect on me, so I expected the movie "Alien vs Predator". When the movie finished, I felt disappointed. The movie was trash. I couldn'tunderstand what this movie's director want to express. I think these colaboration is good idea, but that movie doesn't have message.

Alien2 was very good composition, because that had message. Teacher in hosei university said the message in the Arien2 is about maternal instinct, because the very big mother try to make their child. The main character's behavior had massage, too. It include feminism. When I hear this movie has a message about the social problem or maternal instinct, it burst into look like great movie.

Predator1 was merely interenting. It was simple story, but the main character use various strategy to fight with Predator. The strategy which main character use was very interesting. He was very inteligence, so he use natural weapon he made in jungle. I think the director is inteligence, too. Only he could make that excellent movie.

Alien2 and Predator1 was very good composition. These movie has the message or something interesting which amuse moviegoers. Alien vs Predstor might make not only moviegoers but also director of Alien2 or Predator1 feel disappointed. It might become worst movie this year. I expect this movie would win the blue ribbon prize.

Happy Halloween

Halloween is one of the special culture in America. In Japan we know only word. We don't have such a exellent culture. I like Halloween, because the party I went yesterday was very interesting. It is actually the festival for children, but everyone enjoys the halloween from child to adult. I think it is good culture in a certain sense.

One of the reason is this party focus on the children. In any cases of festivals, children are devided from adults. Children's parties are only for children, and adults parties are only for adults. I think children sometimes feel frastrated,
because they can't become hero if children join the adults parties. Halloween is fundamentally for child, so they can become the heros. On the other hand, their parents and older brothers make a fuss with a costume at night.

American family have a childish heart, and it makes familly happy. I sometimes think many American people are childish, but I like this aspect of them. Many of Japanese people, especially our age, try to act like adults, but they are actually childish. To the contrary, many American young people of my friend behave like child, but they are actualluy adults. I like American people better than Japanese young pelple, but surely it depends on the personality.

What make Halloween party interesting is children and adult's childrens heart. As a result that children and adult's children hearts interact each other, They can enjoy this annual culture. It is very good culture for every one who has a childish heart. I like this culture!

THe Difference of the Notion of the Religion.

I met christian this morning. He greeted me despite we are stranger. I couldn't understand why he did it. I remember that I have ever talked with them about religeous. Many of the American are Cristian. How about Japanese? Many of Japanese don't belong to religion. We emerage only the time when the peaple marry and die.
I think there are some reason why we don't need to belong to religion.

First reason is that many Japanese got wealth, so there are many people who doesn't trust god. Once upon a time, in Japan, religion were popularized among poor people. It was said that trusting god change their life, but verious industryies have already developed in Japan after WW2. Most Japanese are middle class and have enough money to live. We don't need to trust something.

Second reason is that every religeon couldn't make whole Japanese people popularized, because of political reason. I don't know thw detail about the history in Japan. The religious popuralization was forbided by government. If government didn't forbid religeon, we might believe some religeon.

I think the reason why Japanese don't trust religion are social reason and historical reason. Most of Japanese people are rich now, and religeon was forbidden by goverment in the past.Japanese people don't need to belong the religion now. I think Japan has particular history. It didn't need to accept the religeon, but it also means if our living changed, we might start to believe god.

Marriage

My cousin will marry soon. In addition to my ex-girlfriend will marry soon. Today's topic is about marriage. I've heard that the woman who is American usually plan to marry after graduating colleage. In Japan, we usually marry before we will become 40 years old. These imformations are depend on my opinion, so they don't accord to actually statistics. These differet thinking aboutmarriage shows the difference of the characteristic.

In the case of American women, they don't care their age so much. It is difficult to explain. I think many women can get job if they want to work, and many women can get marry. I think that depend on thinking of freedom. In the case of Japanese women, they tend to care their age. American women seems not to care their age less than Japanese women. Japanese women are obliged by their age.

In the U.S, the number of divorce is larger than Japanese one. Japanese women don't want divorce except the situation they have a serious problem. On the other hand, American women devorce easily only because of sex. Japanese women won't understand this fact, because Japanese women more patient than American women, and they don't like struggle between couple. I think that it depends on the characteristic. The differences of characteristic connect to the different thinking about marriage.

In short, Japanese women are careful about marriage. They care their age and character. American women are active and don't care about age so much. These different have an effect on the thinking of the marriage.

The Difference of Essey Structure

I learned essey structure in the class. It was difficult for me, because I usually get the good idea while I'm writing essey. In the case of Japanese we are needed to write according to particular structure, but I can rewrite easily, because it is easier to write in Japanese than in English. We usually use 起承転結. I explain as follows.

1 起(ki)= Introduction
2 承(syou)= accept the introduction
3 転(ten)= change the view
4 結(ketu)= conclusion

I mean Japanese style of essey structure separete body paragraph to 2 parts. Now, I try to think the difference of these structure.

First, English essey style focus on sentences. Japanese style of essey structure does not have as strict rules as English one. English essey style have thesis ststement, topic sentence and concluding sentence. I can't understand the reason why English essey style focus on the sentence. I thought that to focus on the sentence make reader to read easily. We can find the topic easily. Is it important? I don't think so. Lack of freedom about writing system make context boring.

Next, the lack of the structure makes context difficult to understand. When you finish reading essey, you would wonder what the intention of the writer is. That's why essey should be obliged. English essey style is very good about it. Reader can understand the intention of writer easily. It connect to comprehension of the topic.
起承転結 isn't so clear, because it depends on the only contents.

English essey system and 起承転結 have different structure. Each of them has advantage and disadventage. English essey structure is obliged so hard, but it makes essey easy to understand. Meanwhile, Japanese one is freer, but it is difficult to understand.

Curse

The day before yesterday, I watched Japanese movie jyuon which is Japanese horror movie. The story is that the main character lived in the house where one family had commited suicide pact. Their spirit is there, and they kill or make charecters mad. The reason we watched it is that the Jyuon will release as an american movie soon. I want to compare them. What I want to focus on is how American movie directer change the story for American moviegoers.

The feature of Japanese horror movies are it's surprising happanings. An awful face approach the screen. She move very strangely. American movies are same as them. I think American one is much reality. Do you know this story as follows? The biggest difference of the picture between Japanese painter draw and American painter draw. The answer is blank. Japanese ancient painter make blank on purpose, but American or European painter use all of space. If this tendency replace in the case of horror movie, American horror movie doesn't have blank. It means that they doesn't have long rest before surprising scene. Jyuon which is entitled Curse have a long rest. You should focus on this point, and you can find another perspective.

Japnese movie "curse" will release soon. I had ever seen it. It's a very frighten movie. The moviegoer should focus on the differences between Japanese horror movie and American one. Japanese horror movie, especially "curse", has Japanese own features of horror movie. You should watch it.

I've recently try to watch TV. I think it's important to improve my listenning skill. When I watched TV, I watched the news about assault. In Japan, there are fewer number of assaults than America. I asked one of my friend, and he replied that it depends on American national character. I couldn't agree with him. I think American various environment have an effect on their affair.

American education system is not completely. Have All of American educated in the school? Maybe no. Education often can make human's moral. Through the session, we can learn to distinguish what they can do and what they can't do. It's important thing of life. In Japan, education is obligation. Is American system is same as Japan's one, too?

America have many kinds of races, so they need to manage them. It means different types of human has each cultures and each morals. I don't want to say, but it's a big feature of this nation. I think they need big force to conduct them. I think fortunately America has it. Then why have the affairs like this happened?
I don't know. My friends said that they are spiritually in pain. It might be correct. They need to review about assault.

To think about sexual assault is important. Not good education system or something like that cause affair like sexual assault. America should have more force to restrict resident to protect them. If America were stricter country, those victime would be reduced.

American TV

I watched TV with my friend yesterday. What we watched is about comedy. One family trick each other. The son broke his father's car, and decorate it strangel. I thought it was funny, because it's filled with children's interest. Thouhg they are called foolish, but their activity is acceptable for me. In Japan, we didn't like such as foolish activity. We are likely to think they are just waste. I think this opinion is almost important, but Japanese can't insist that it's abusorutely wrong, because it must be interesting for even Japanese.

The difference I think between Japanese requirment to TV and American one is process. American know what is interesting for them. It's important. Japanese know what it's interesting for us, too. If we merely try to catch their difference, I can some difference. One of them is the difference of our point of laughing. American laugh at exaggerated point. It means American is generous for laughing. On the other hand Japanese is quite strict. Do you know Rakugo?　It's a kind of traitional laughing. When I was asked about Ochi by my friend, I couldn't explain. Ochi is the last part of the story, and we have to focus on Ochi when we watch the Rakugo. I found it that the American don't concern the end of the story. We laugh at the end of the story.

The second difference is about their contents. In the TV program I watched yesterday, the adult played like a child. The man who watched it laugh at their behavior. Japanese comedy is more complicated. Their contents has been becoming more coplicated to be exact. Most of them are conto style. It's like a small play but they prepare ochi. We can can find funny point during pexpect the end. It sometimes very funny, but it sometimes makes audiences bored, so it's difficult.
I think American one is sometimes better than Japanese TV program, but fundamentally Japanese one is precious. Their contents are necessarily different.

What I watch yesterday didn't have "Ochi". If I compare it with Japanese one, American Tv proram has different disposition. Both od them are interesting for me. American TV programs sometimes have childish contents. Japanese TV company never adopt stuff like that.

The date of voting is coming soon. I heard Michagan is important district for candidates, because they start their activities from Michigan. Michael Moore, who criticised president Bush, came to MSU. On the other day I watched big meeting about politics On the other hand, in Japan, young people who has francise don't go to vote, because they aren't interested in politics.It's a big difference between Japan and America.

I think one of the reason Japanese young people are'nt interested in politics is that it's very similar; for example, when they discuss about consumer tax, each perty suggest each number, we can't decide what is the best selection.

Another reason is their slow mechanism. Jpapanese politics is very carefulness. They discuss about one things for a long time. They sometimes discide their important policy very fast because of foreign pressure. What they discuss about problem many politician didn't pay for peusion, they spend almost one term. It must make many person sepalate them from politics.

Japanese politics have complex and boring structure. It sometimes make people disappointed. As a result of it, the rate of voting will be reduced. There will be many differences between Japanese politics and American one.

I've never seen such a tolerant society as america. They abandon everything together. They must know dioxin problem. It have an effect on babies, too. They should learn how to separate rubbish according to type. On the other hand, they don't have a sense about wasting, because they abandon many foods even if they could eat them. They should change their mind against trash right now.

In Japan if you neglect separation garbage, someone will scold you, because we know the problem this garbage generate dioxine. we don't have many reosurces, so we've focused on recycling. It7s suitable way for Japanese feature and it's good at the view pointof environment.

In America, there are many resocess and their trading is bigger scale than Japan. I think only America don't need to focus on recycling, but America has more population and more serious problem may occor because of it's scale about environment. You have to learn sense against wasting.

The thought againdst America may developed, but it's not complete about trash problem. In Japan, we know that separating trash is very important things against environment. It interfere dioxine problem, which havea effect on babies, and generate another problem. America is very big country, if America complete with those thought, they will become the savior of environment.

Maybe you've not watched Asian cup soccer. It was very horrible game for Japanese. Eventually, Japan won the championship but there were left many problems between China and Japan. What China supporters did was obviously, when Japanese Anthem was sung, they made noise like booing. It became a problem. What do American people think about it?

The reason Chinese supporter make noise is very clear. They have become educated about Japanese very ugly behavior in WW2. I think It's right, but sport and politicks aren't the same activities.

American people known about race problem, because America has more problems about it. Though many different races are there, they seem to get along each other. What do you think about histrically problem between Japan and Chaina.

I joined the Japanese class, and judged their Japanese pronanciation test. It was very interesting, because students have a interesting in Japanese. Though I'm not gret linguist, I'm greatful to their effort to study Japanese. They encourage us to study another language. On the other hand, I felt annoyment, too. When I watch Japanese text book, I found two strange things. One of them is about picture someone took Japanese, another is one sentense in the text book.

I felt irritate about light prejudice against Asian people. At first I found the picture which put middle aged man who has thin hair and strange forelook. He is actually Japanese, but I couldn't understand the reason why they chose him. Even If he is good person, his appearance doesn't suit as model. Some student make misunderstanding about Japanese. We don't always have camera and we know many hairstyles. I kept watching that text book, I found another strange point."Mary is Japanese?" Mary cannot be Japanese. I have not been able to found Mary who is Japanese though I've been aliving 19 years.Mary is American. I wanted to tell the editor "Don't put the sentense like this" even if Mary is Japanese American.

I sometimes found the prejudise like this. It's OK because It's sometimes funny, but the cace of issuing textbook for student who studying Japanese try not to use something which may make Japanese uncomfortable.

Studying English with Imagination

It is difficult to gain another country's language. I'm studying English every day, but My English skill doesn't grow. Today, I talked with friend of mine about the good way to learn English. He told to me if I could bury special device into our head to gain English skill, studying English will become easier. By the way, do you know Doraemon? He is a robot like cat, and he has many items to help holy character. He might be able to help us to understand English.

If Draemon is here.....many people think so, but his items are not necessarily for us. In one colleage's test there was a interesting question, I heard. "If there were takekoputa which is one of the important item to fly and they put it on their head in the comics, what will happen?" The answer was that this person will die because it must include super power to lift human, and skin cannot support this power. You had better not to imagine, because it must be cruel. Imagination give us big dream, but It sometimes make us feel dissapointed. Reality is strange....I change my mind, I will study English without depending Draemon.

To gain English skill, it looks hard for us. We sometimes imagine easy way, but Imagination may not necessarily be good for us, so I try to think the reality way to gain English skill.

I went to MSU Auditorium to watch Michael Moore's perfprmance. He is famous movie director who's won kanne international movie prise. He cariticaze president Bush in Fahrenheit 911 I didn't have time to watch all, because I don't want miss the class.

Michael Moore is a great movie director, I think. I thought he is interesting, because I like every Amwrican entertainers. I've watched one of his movie"Boeling for Columbine.". This fat white American focus on American guns problem. In Japan, There are no guns exept for hunt, though few Japanese actually have gun. I can agree with his opinion about guns. They should be also prohibit even though it's for protect yourself in America. Guns can make usual human murderer. I wish American police should collect guns which inhabitant own. In Japan, Hideyoshi Toyotomi succeeded in collecting guns or weapons to prohibit terrorism. I can't imagine American president determine to forbid from having them, but I think It's valuable.

In Boeling for Columbine., the greatmovie director, Micheal Moore bloomed about guns in America I agree with him. In Japan, nobody doesn't have guns except for hunter. It may impossible to collect guns for American government, but it's a important things to reduce the number of guns to interfere crimes.

American Comedy VS Japanese Comedy

I watched American comedy on TV. It was very funny for me, but one comedian said Japanese comedy is funnier than American, and I agree with him little. To compare them, I recognize their characteristics of commedy program as follows.

Japanese commedy　

①One commedian trick another one.
②for young

American commedian

①Audience can read story easily.
②for family
③Persure reality

I think Japanese commedies are better than American's one.American famous commedies we know are like a home-dorama style or news one, and many of patterns are similar,but Japanese commedies have almost two variations; for example, manzai(two person's talking), konto(many person's talking).　Two person's talking is Kansai district style. Some Japanese says American style looks almost one pattern, so its not funny. I think American have to recognize it, because it's probably fact that Japanese cammedies have more patterns than American one; therefore, a kind of Japanese joke called surreealism is very high quality, but I think if we watch the American commedy through the surreealism filter,that's looks very funny. Though I don't have a good example it's a kind of way to watch the American commedy funnily.

American commedies are not boring, but they can't surplus Japanese commedy. They have fewer patterns and too honest against laughing. On the other hand, Japanese commedy include various pattern and persue new type resouces of laughing. My opinion is that we should to try to American's eye or find the different way to watch them like a surreealism.

Japanimation is hot now.When I stayed American house I watched Japanimation DVD my host family hold it. He likes Japan very much and he also has many Japanese DVDs and CDs. By the way, do you know the word "Japanimation"? It's a mintage of Japnese + animation. Recently, Japanimation pay attention in the world. I don't know why they are famous in the world, but I can guess the reason is that they use very high quality and they have almost original structure.

I think the animation in Japan isn't popular so much. It's famous among "otaku" people, but I found that it is watched by ordinary people in America. I suppose that this difference is depend on their thought about animation. Most Japanese think animation is for children, and adult don't like to wetch it. I don't know American's thought againdt animation, but they are more generous than Japanese. Adult likes to watch it as his hobby. I think it is great, because they must be able to amuse them, too. In Japan, there are culture of shame. We tend to decide something for children means shame for adult. It's not good culture today because there are good animation culture in the case of animation. We should accept these new trend.

Japanimation is one of the Japanese culture today. In the world, many people are interested in Japanimation, but the culture of shame in japan decide them for only children. As a result of this decision, most Japanese can't accept their culture. It's a kind of irony. We should accept them, and nimation's quality will grow up.

American music is strange for me. Though I always listen to music, but Idon't know American own music. Please tell me a good American music. My favorite musician is greenday,and I like "American idiot", but I could'nt understand why they criticize for their country. Though I dont grasp all meanings of word, they sing ○○○○ America. In Japan they don't use phrases like that despite they don't have patriotism to their coutry.

I think the reason why they criticize their country is they have been fond of irony recentry. The very popular documetary movie "bowring for columbine" effected on their recent irony. At the case of Greenday's song, it's not serious, but it's kidding. It is similar to black joke, but is it allowed to all American people? I don't think so, because some of them must feel uncomfortable. At the case of Japan, one musician arranged our national anthem, but his CD does'nt appear CD shop, because it's a not good things.Goverment avoided that its tiny problem become a big one in my opinion.I think if you want to occor revolution, become a politician!

I think it's not good things to criticize his country by music, because it can't raise something. It's just kidding. The music like "American idiot" can gather everyone's interest, but o the other hand it makes some people uncomfortable.

In America, baseball is one of the most popular sports, so famous player can get much money, the income they receive is most expensive of all professional basebal players in the world. They can make their living by their death with only their income for 4~5 years. NBL include many players like them, and they have very very exelent skills and power to play baseball. They belong to each teams, and teams try to win the strict league to join the World series. World seriese is the tounament to decide the strongest team in America.

I can't agree with the way to call the tounament which is held to decide NO.1 team in America. Why does NBL want to make themselves no.1 in the world. It's their misleading, because they aren't always no.1 team in the world. Japanese baseball team actually sometimes win against American team with separately score. Sports sometimes depend on their luck. New York Yankees can sometimes lose Japanese weakest team. They aren't always strongest team, so I think no teams can't make themselves strongest in the world. I suggest to take place of world cup, and decide no.1 team in the world.

American sports team tend to make themseves strongest in the world, but they aren't always no.1. My opinion is that it is misunderstanding and they put too much confidence in themselves. I wish the world cup would to decide no.1 baseball team would be held.

I like outlook for sports in America. It's sometimes bloomed as show sports in Japan, because they include many irrelevant things to the competition. A week ago I'd watched football game for the first time. It was like a circus. Cheer girl junped so high, and many people who have own instrument appeared the playing ground and play it.

I think it is difficult to keep their style. In the case of Japanese sports, we try to make sports funny by show sports, but this style tend to be bloomed by fan, because it's not polite attitude for us to watch sports. I think Japanese show sports is halfway job. I can find cheering girl and some instrument, but it's small scale. American show sports is extreme, because their interest also turn to show.
When I watched American football, on the half time a dog run in the field and catch the frisbee.When a dog succeed to catch it, audience clapped and made noise, but he failed to do it, they said "no~". It was so funny to me. Their style to watch sport is very thorough.

American sports is fascinate sports. Their style is different from real way to enjoy sports, but it's one of the way. I like this outlook. Japanese sports try to imitate them, but this style never suit to the Japanese notion against sports. The way to enjoy sports vary from country to country.

One of the biggest differences between Americaq and Japan appears food. The americantend to like to eat big food and to drink something sweet, but many Japanese don't like those.

The American's taste must be strange.when a friend of mine served coffee it is soldin Japan to the American guys, they said it's too sweet. They couldn't drink Japanese regular coffe, despite they always eat pretty sweet drink. I could'nt understand. When I tried serving Japanese milk tea I bought it at oriental market to the American guys, they said "it's like peach juice." That tea surely didn'tinclude peach fragrance.

The differense of food between Americanpeople and Japanese one is so separated. Americanpeople always eat sweet and big meals. It makes their taste strange.
